Forum Rules and Posting Guidelines

The forums of MTB Fitness are intended to foster productive, positive conversations among members. These rules, in addition to our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy all constitute your agreement with us and the continued use of this site. This space is designed to be a safe space for all conversation, and it is important to us that all members feel safe and supported.

MTB Fitness is intended to be a supportive community of women helping women, of any age.  We are here to learn new information and to help each other.  With that in mind, we ask that all members follow these rules to create an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable.

Forum Badges

In order to identify users and roles, each post will be identified by a member name and badge.  Topics and replies are reviewed periodically by admins and moderators to ensure they meet the community posting guidelines and rules.

Moderators have the ability to edit or remove posts only.  Site Admins may edit or remove posts in addition to suspending, reinstating, or banning members or guests.

Rules for Discussion

  • Information and instructions given within these forums is to be used at your own risk and at your sole discretion.
  • Forums are categorized by topics; questions or messages need to posted in the appropriate forum.
  • Please use the search function at the top of the forum prior to posting to see if your questions has been asked and answered already.  If not, or you are still having trouble, post away.
  • If a topic is not posted in the correct forum, moderators or site admin have the right to move that topic to the appropriate forum.
  • Posting of any copyrighted material on our site is strictly prohibited.
  • Any posts that contain links to obtain affiliate commissions will be deleted, regardless of the product being promoted.
  • Posting links to external sites with health information is prohibited unless the sources are peer-reviewed; links to non-peer reviewed health information will be removed unless they are relevant to constructive discussion.
  • Zero profanity will be tolerated on our message boards, including profanity that has been obfuscated with symbols or numbers; any use of profanity will result in immediate suspension.
  • Please use proper grammar when posting.  Do not use “text-message” style substitutions (i.e. “u” for “you” or “thx” for “thanks”).  Take the time to spell out and think about your reply in a courteous, thoughtful manner.
  • No racial, ethnic, or gender-based insults will be tolerated; insults of this type will lead to immediate suspension.
  • No posts intending to offend, hurt, or otherwise harm any other member will be allowed and will be immediately removed.
  • Spamming is not permitted; posts should be constructive and thoughtful and should not be made with the intent to bump a post.  Replies should add to the discussion and stimulate further discourse.
  • Pornography, inappropriate content, or links to this content are absolutely not permitted and are ground for immediate suspension and removal.
  • Any content that is deemed illegal or potentially illegal will be immediately removed and the user suspended.
  • Pictures are allowed provided they remain under 6MB.  Copyrighted, explicit, or offensive photos are prohibited.
  • Advertisements of any kind are strictly prohibited.
  • Impersonation of any other user is prohibited and will result in immediate banning.

Consequences of noncompliance

Failure to adhere to any of these rules can result in the following:

  • A moderator or site admin may ask for modification or removal of the post in question
  • A moderator or site admin may remove the post without prior notification
  • A site admin may suspend the user account for a period of time deemed appropriate by site admin
  • A site admin may ban the user account

Site admins and moderators have sole discretion on determining appropriateness of a post.  If you disagree with the decision of a moderator or site admin you may send an email to [email protected] or reach out through the site messaging app.  Verbal abuse or public disagreement with a moderator or site admin will result in immediate banning.

When posting you agree the administrators and moderators have the right to modify, delete, edit, or close any topic, account, or profile data at any time that they deem fit and you are in agreement with our global Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy.
